Author

Mike Arnone was born in the beginning of the ‘80s and grew up absorbing the music, media and culture of the time period through his creative eyes as a child. His father worked for Channel 11 in New York City (WPIX-TV) and thus the Arnone family had a television in every room of their household. Just like his father would be sure to watch the ten o’clock news for the purpose of quality control, Mike was up before school and on Saturday mornings watching the station’s cartoon lineup for the purpose of entertainment.Mike absorbed the stories from this time period and found himself wanting to experience more of pretty much every movie, TV show, or book he consumed; He would literally become sad when a story ended. To satisfy this craving, Mike began to write fan fiction about these shows on his mom’s digital typewriter. His first foray into the world of fan fiction was a crossover that was part Robocop part 101 Dalmatians – though this was not as well received by his fourth grade class as he thought it would be.Undeterred, Mike’s propensity to write only grew more intense as he grew up and began playing PC games, where he found his love of flight simulators. It took Mike years to develop the self control, organizational skills, and discipline to write this first serious step into the literary world that combines his love of a good story with science-fiction and aviation themes.Besides being an aviation fanboy, Mike has a deep appreciation for writers, teachers, librarians and other media people such as television and radio workers. He participates in Crossfit with his wife and volunteers at his church. Mike believes that the confluence of his media consumption and life experiences has lead to his being able to write this book and its planned sequels.Mike Arnone lives in New York with his wife Candice, whom he met at Iona College. Sometimes, she walks in on him being creative at his computer workstation: muttering character dialogue to himself with his hands intimating combat jets in epic dogfights, tears of passion streaming from his eyes as 90’s piano rave blasts from beneath his headphones. She laughs at him until he notices her and acts all surprised.Mike and Candice lost two of their sons: John Christopher and William Anthony to complications of premature birth. It is the author’s wish that anyone who has enjoyed any good book in their childhood to please donate a new copy of it to their local children’s hospital, rehabilitation center or library.
